The numbers move by 1-3 percentage points cycle to cycle, which is normal variance, but trend changes over multiple years usually signal something - a program expanded its class size, a program shifted its admissions criteria, or a program saw a meaningful change in applicant volume.

Stop. The rate at which strangers got in last year tells you almost nothing about the rate at which you will get in this year. Your file's GPA, your PCE, your essay, your school list, your timing, and your interview performance are the inputs that decide your cycle. The acceptance rate is the program's rate, not yours. Pay attention to fit, to filter, to the parts of your file you can still change. The number on the program's homepage is decoration most of the time.
